"Black Cutlet Curry" Long-established Western restaurant Last business day Tokyo Kanda Jimbocho June 26 14:53

A long-established Western-style restaurant that has been serving curry for over 50 years in Kanda, a town of students and books, has reached its final business day on the 26th, and many customers who are willing to close the store are visiting.

The kitchen restaurant “Kitchen Nankai” in Kanda Jimbocho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo was founded in 1960 and has been popular with students and visitors to old bookstores. It will be closed.

On the 26th, more than 100 customers lined up before the store opened at 11:15 am, and photographed the shop's signs and menus.

Then, they ordered the famous cutlet curry, which uses black roux, which was roasted with flour and curry powder over time, and tasted it like closing the store.

A man in his 40s, a family employee from Chiba Prefecture, said, "This is a store I remember visiting many times while attending a vocational school. When I heard that it would be closed, I came with my family for the first time in a while. It's sad that it's gone."

"I remember the days when students were eating curry while eating mahjong," said Shigeru Minamiyama, the founder's president (90).

Business on the 26th will continue until 7:30 pm as usual, and a goodwill store will open next month.
