Three deaths on the coast in one day. This is the sad outcome this Thursday in New Aquitaine. Two people died at Ondres beach in the Landes, and a swimmer died at La Tremblade in Charente-Maritime.

At 9:45 a.m., the Etel Regional Operational Center for Surveillance and Rescue (Cross) was alerted to the disappearance at sea of ​​two people, swept away by a wave while they were walking on the beach of Ondres (Landes) .

The Ecu 64 helicopter of the gendarmerie is engaged, and firefighters from Landes complete the device on land. The helicopter retrieves the two victims, a man and a woman aged around 70, taken care of on board by the Smur medical team. Their deaths were noted at 10.45 a.m.

In the Landes, five people have already died by drowning, since the end of confinement.

"Her death is unfortunately noted at 6.30 pm, says the maritime prefecture, and the other five swimmers are taken to Royan hospital. "
