[Commentary] Recently, 34-year-old Zheng Ming completed a "task" and translated the content of common knowledge about health and wellness in a free magazine into 6 Braille "books" with more than 10,000 words for 11 days for more Of blind friends reading. However, Zheng Ming's road to translation did not stop there. Recently, with the help of volunteers, she tried to inscribe the knowledge of prevention and control of the new coronary pneumonia epidemic in Braille to facilitate reading and dissemination in the circle of blind friends.

Born in 1986, Zheng Ming was blind from childhood due to eye diseases. While studying in a special school, she learned Braille and mastered massage techniques and is currently working in a massage shop for blind people in Chengdu. Talking about why health knowledge should be translated into Braille, Zheng Ming said that his massage shop is a "gathering place" for blind friends around him. Everyone is usually interested in health knowledge. Previously, the massage shop owner, who was also blind, obtained a health magazine and scanned it into an electronic version that can be read and played through the software through the library, but the blind friends have limited hearing and the reading software used is very fast. on.

If you use an open-minded person to (help) read an article, and (speech speed) is fast (blind), he will not be able to understand the levels or meanings in it, but if he uses Braille according to his habits or reading method, he will be able to understand it more deeply .

[Commentary] Zheng Ming's Braille requires someone to help with reading, and then the blind colleagues in the store are helpless, so they chose to ask for help from the Peking Charity Service Center in Sichuan Yi Road. The charity service center quickly responded after sending out a voluntary recruitment message. Zheng Ming can only spare time for translation every day, and whenever she translates, there will be volunteers to help her read. During the translation process, it is necessary to read and revise it repeatedly. Sometimes volunteers may have to read it dozens of times. Li Xiaohui, a volunteer who participated in reading, said that the reading process is very tiring and boring, but seeing that Zheng Ming can’t take care of his palm soreness and insists on the seriousness of Braille, he would like to help her complete this “task” quickly. .

At that time, volunteers were recruited to participate in this activity for two hours each day. Within a day, more than a dozen volunteers were recruited. We mainly help (Zheng Ming) to read. Her braille characters are engraved bit by bit, so she said that she will be much slower than normal people. If only one page of words may be hundreds of words, she will engrave a copy . After everyone's continuous efforts, it took 11 days to complete (translate Braille) this matter.

[Explanation] It is understood that Braille translation requires a Braille writing board, special paper for writing Braille, and a tapered Braille writing pen. The Braille writing board is divided into an upper board and a lower board. The braille paper is put into the braille board, and the writing board is divided into many grids. Each grid has 6 small pits, which are the "dots" of Braille writing. The points and positions correspond to different Pinyin letters, forming Braille text. The 6 Braille "books" translated into volumes have made Zheng Ming gain the praise of many blind friends. She is now trying to translate the knowledge of epidemic prevention and control into Braille to let more blind people understand the relevant knowledge. Zheng Ming said that the popularity of Braille among the surrounding blind friends is not very high, and there are fewer people who can Braille, so she wants to teach the Braille lettering method to more blind people so that they can read and write in Braille.

Now (epidemic situation) prevention and control knowledge is very important for each of us. In the past, we (blind people) listened to radio and television and listened to a lot of these (epidemic prevention) knowledge. I thought that if (epidemic prevention knowledge) was carved into Braille text, let More blind friends learn more knowledge. There are still many (blind people) who only know how to use computers and can't read braille. I want to train braille to teach them how to recognize word boards, braille pens, books and braille, so that they can all learn braille.
