Show nonexistent price Administrative disposal of Sundrug Consumer Affairs Agency June 24, 17:52

The Consumer Affairs Agency said that the manufacturer's suggested retail price, which is not actually set, was displayed on the leaflet and was misleading as if it was a discount, and the Consumer Agency said that it was a gift to the major drug store chain "Sun Drug". Based on the labeling law, we took administrative sanctions to prevent recurrence.

Disposal was carried out by Sun Drug, a major drugstore chain with its headquarters in Fuchu, Tokyo.

According to the Consumer Affairs Agency, from July of last year to January of this year, the leaflets of newspapers displayed the manufacturer's suggested retail prices for 13 products such as foods and pesticides that did not actually exist. It means that they advertised as if they had discounted "% OFF".

We advertised with such leaflets because there were a total of 117 stores in 36 prefectures nationwide, and the content of the leaflets was decided by the headquarters at once.

The Consumer Affairs Agency has taken administrative sanctions ordering the company to prevent recurrence, saying that such acts violate the prize labeling law.

Regarding this disposal, Sundrug posted a comment on its website, saying, "We apologize for any inconvenience and concern. We will strive to prevent recurrence."
