Hunan Zhangjiajie landslide caused 44 tourists trapped in the highway department quickly dispatched rescue

  On the 22nd, rainy weather was ushered in Cili County, Zhangjiajie, Hunan. A landslide occurred on the highway of Wulei Mountain Scenic Area. The amount of landslide reached more than 500 square meters, resulting in a one-time traffic interruption, and 44 tourists were stranded on the mid-level highway.

  After receiving the alarm call, Zhu Chunlin, head of the rural road station of the Cili County Highway Construction and Maintenance Center, led the rescue personnel and large equipment to the scene immediately. Set warning signs to close highways, direct excavators and transport vehicles to clear landslides, and assist travel companies to deliver food and drinking water to tourists to appease their emotions.

  At that time, the local area was still raining, and the danger was still happening. A roadbed of about 8 meters near the landslide section collapsed.

  Rescue personnel on the one hand commanded the vehicle to retreat to a safe section, on the one hand stepped up to clear the rush. After more than 5 hours of hard work, at 18 o'clock, a temporary access road was snatched out of the landslide section. Five vehicles blocked, one minibus, and one freight car passed safely, and all passengers on the car passed safely on foot.

  When the escort tourists left safely, the road section just rushed through was submerged again by the landslide due to the long-term erosion of rain. Rescue team members continue to set up warning signs to temporarily close the traffic. As of today (24th), rushing through is still in progress.
