Carers' demonstration on June 16 - Lionel Urman / SIPA

The "Ségur de la santé" is nearing its end, but the unions do not want demobilization and therefore call for a new national day of action on Tuesday, June 30, intended to obtain more resources for the hospital and carers.

This mobilization day was ratified on Tuesday evening by the main unions in the hospital public service (FO, SUD, Unsa and CGT) and by groups of caregivers, notably Inter-Hospitals and Inter-Emergencies.

180,000 demonstrators on June 16 according to the Inter-hospital Collective

It will occur two weeks after the "day of action" of June 16, which brought together several tens of thousands of demonstrators all over France (180,000 according to the Collective Inter-hospitals), including 18,000 people on the Esplanade des Invalides in Paris according to the police headquarters. The CGT and SUD are already planning another day of demonstration on July 14, but this proposal is not unanimous among the unions.

The unions are calling for a "general salary increase" of at least 300 euros net per month for hospital staff, but also a "recruitment plan", a "training plan" and "an end to all closings of establishments, services and beds ”.

New meeting Wednesday

Friday, a draft memorandum of understanding was given to the unions, providing for "a base upgrade from 1 July", via an "index bonus" for all agents of the hospital public service - excluding doctors, who are the subject of parallel negotiations.

But no envelope has been put on the table by the executive, to the chagrin of the unions mobilized within the framework of the "Ségur de la santé", which for several weeks have been asking for an estimate of the salary measures promised by the government.

A new meeting dedicated to careers and compensation is scheduled for Wednesday at the Ministry of Health. This meeting should be held in the presence of the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, according to several unions, who hope to obtain budgetary details there.
