[Commentary] On June 23, Tsinghua University held the "Cloud Graduation Ceremony" for undergraduates in 2020. At 8 a.m., the ceremony began on time. Teachers and students in bachelor uniforms and masks sat at a certain distance and attended the ceremony at 16 venues on campus. Graduates from home and abroad who were unable to return to school due to the epidemic watched the ceremony through live broadcast. At the ceremony, Qiu Yong, president of Tsinghua University and chairman of the school degree evaluation committee, said that although the epidemic made the graduation season that should be flying a little heavy, the experience during the epidemic has also become a unique life experience for graduates.

During this special day, you have overcome the anxiety and various difficulties and insisted on completing your studies; you actively undertake volunteer service work and do your best for epidemic prevention and control; you read from the story of ordinary people’s anti-epidemic With one heart, I truly felt the greatness of human nature. I believe that the epidemic has made you realize that life is full of uncertainty, and that everyone's destiny is closely related to others. Dear classmates, because of the epidemic situation, we have witnessed the important moments of your life in such a special way, with regrets and even more disappointments. But I am sure that after four years of growth and experience, and after the epidemic exam, you will be able to better cope with all the unknown crises and challenges of destiny ahead.
[Commentary] After the ceremony, many graduates could not hide their excitement and took photos with teachers and classmates. "Cloud Ceremony" allows them to experience the sense of ritual at important moments in life. Looking back on the four-year campus time, the graduates also felt a lot of emotion.
