The Ueno Zoo in Tokyo, which had been temporarily closed due to the new coronavirus, reopened on the 23rd, and the giant panda and Shanshan who have just turned three are popular.

The Tokyo Ueno Zoo, which had been temporarily closed since February 29th, reopened on the 23rd for the first time in about four months.

The Panda Building has been popular since its opening, to see the female giant panda, Shanshan, who just turned three on the 12th of this month. Visitors were pleased to meet for the first time in a long time, as Shanshan ate bamboo shoots and moved around cheerfully, screaming with his hands.

A 30-year-old woman who came to the park said, "I was so happy that I was able to meet Shanshan for the first time in four months, and I was crying. It was cute."

In the panda building, it is not possible to shoot or view multiple times to avoid congestion and prevent the spread of infection. In addition, for the time being, the entire zoo is limited to 4000 people a day who pre-registered in advance.

Kyomasa Tomita, Deputy Director of the Ueno Zoo, said, “I was relieved a little today. I think Shanshan is a truly beloved person. I want to do it."
