  Qinghai Longbao National Nature Reserve is located in the core area of ​​Sanjiangyuan. It was established as a provincial nature reserve in 1984 and was promoted to a national level in 1986. It is the first national nature reserve in Qinghai Province. The plateau is densely covered with swamps and rich in wetland resources. For a long time, it has provided sufficient food and high-quality habitat for migratory birds such as black-necked cranes, and has become a concentrated area for habitat and reproduction of waterbirds on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
