"We the dogs" by Oh Sung-yoon and Lee Choon-baek - The Jokers / Les Bookmakers

  • June 22 marks the reopening of cinemas.
  • Between covers and novelties, around fifty feature films are available.
  • Many kinds of films are represented to satisfy the viewer's appetite.

Nearly 50 feature films arrive or return in cinemas which reopen this Monday. A chance for moviegoers to (re) discover films of all genres and from all countries in safe conditions that promise to be optimal.

By offering its ten favorites, 20 Minutes helps you to develop a program according to your tastes and your mood.

Fancy a good action movie? "The Hunt"

Craig Zobel's The Hunt has changed the release date several times, but it was worth the wait. It is the only big American film which finally dares to wipe the plasters. Betty Gilpin is leading this man (or woman) hunt full of action and twists and turns. The actress is dazzling and we don't want to upset her!

Battleroyalesque extension of a Hostel, The Hunt draws from the ambient brothel that represents these sad last years a funny, speed, gore and fat-free b series, while distributing balls for everyone. One of the best Blumhouse prod, hands down ... pic.twitter.com/BWAV99dO0L

Fancy a nice discovery? "Benni"

We have a little weakness in reality huge for Benni de Nora Fingscheidt, who reveals the young Helena Zengel in the poignant role of a 9 year old girl neglected by her mother. His face is known to all since he remained displayed on the walls throughout the confinement. On screen, this young lady with a volcanic temperament seduces with her energy and a performance that brings tears to the eye and rage to the heart.

We were more than eager to present BENNI, the first shock film by the young German director Nora Fingsheidt ... Soon at the Café des images ✌

Want childish tenderness? "We dogs"

Designed for a younger audience (from 6 years old), We, the dogs , Korean animated film by Oh Sung-yoon and Lee Choon-baek is the unexpected novelty, in the sense that the film was not scheduled before the confinement. The story of a band of stray doggies in search of a sanctuary where to live in peace. The critters are as crisp as they are well drawn. Only risk: children risk claiming a pet.

Juliette Binoche, Yolande Moreau, Lambert Wilson, Sara Forestier or Sami Bouajila are present on June 22!
Their respective distributors confirmed this Friday the releases from Monday, June 22 of "La Bonne Épouse", "De Gaulle", "Filles de Joie" and "Un Fils" pic.twitter.com/GTaY2PIFkI

Fancy extraordinary destinies? "Elephant Man", "De Gaulle", "Radioactive", "Be Natural"

Alongside Lambert Wilson, who returns martial in De Gaulle  by Gabriel Le Bomin. Or Rosamund Pike, still as charismatic as Marie Curie in Marjane Satrapi's Radiocactive , another "historic" character appears on screens this Monday: John Hurt in  Elephant Man , the most accessible of David Lynch's films.

For his 40th birthday, this fantastic and deeply moving work on the life of John Merrick, a man suffering from a terrible deformity, returns in an absolutely sumptuous restored version. To discover or review as we have never seen (and heard, because the sound is insane), in sixty rooms in France instead of the thirty planned initially.

Finally, in the documentary's register, we will cite Be Natural, the hidden story of Alice Guy Blaché by Pamela B. Green, which examines the story of Alice Guy, the first female director, producer and studio director of the history of cinema! A good way to celebrate the 7th Art and return to rooms that we have missed so much.

It really is astonishing that we are only hearing this womans story now! She needs to be on every film schools syllabus! What an incredible career. @benaturalthemovie # aliceguyblaché #benaturalfilm #womeninfilm #metoo 🤯🎉👏🏼💪🏽📽🎞🎥📹📼🎬

Want to have fun? "The Good Wife"

Martin Provost's comedy The Good Wife was a hit  before confinement. And his distributor hopes that it will start again, as if nothing had happened. Since March, Juliette Binoche has had no reason to have lost her sparkling charm in this deliciously whimsical feminist comedy, where she replicates Yolande Moreau and Noémie Lvovsky in a housewife school in the late 1960s.

Want to shed a little tear? "A son" and "Mickey and the Beast"

Sami Bouajila, touching, finds A son of Mehdi M. Barsaoui where he tries to save his child victim of an attack, and the sublime Camila Morrone again faces a difficult father in Mickey and the Bear by Annabelle Attanasio. Two other films that 20 Minutes had the opportunity to defend when they were first released in March.
