The media is both the cause and the symptom and of current political developments in the United States. This is explained by our guest who studied the American conservative media and the interdependence with Donald Trump in the run-up to a new presidential election.

Publicity

In this broadcast, we are talking about conservative radio talk shows , Fox News, the Breitbart site or One America News (ONA), the small chain that blindly supports President Donald Trump , who also uses his news.

Our guest is  Sébastien Mort , lecturer in cultures and societies of the United States at the University of Lorraine, in eastern France, and member of Crem, the Center for Research on Mediations.

One of his fields of study is the link between politics and the media in the United States. More precisely, the expression of partisan political speech in the media on the one hand, and on the other hand the influence of the media as they are constituted on political content.

In December 2019, Sébastien Mort wrote a note for Ifri, the French Institute for International Relations, entitled "  American conservative media in the 2020 campaign: unanimous support for the president?"  "
