The woman tested positive for nucleic acid 12 days after leaving Han to Chengdu

Expert: Basically rule out the possibility of recent infection in Wuhan

Yangtze River Daily News (Reporter Huang Qi) On June 19, the Chengdu Municipal Health Commission notified the case of an asymptomatic infected person imported by our city, which aroused public concern.

It is understood that Xu Moumou, female, 46 years old, from Deyang, Sichuan, lives in Wuhan, Hubei. Xu was in Wuhan Sixth Hospital on April 12, April 18 and 21 at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, April 30 at Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, May 30 On the 20th, a nucleic acid test was conducted at Wuhan Aidikang Medical Laboratory, and all 5 results were negative. On June 3, Xu and XX went to Wuhan Tongji Hospital again for nucleic acid and serum antibody test. The nucleic acid test result was negative, IgM negative and IgG positive.

At 17:26 on June 5, Xu took the train and arrived at Chengdu at 12:38 on the 6th. Then he returned to Deyang by train, and then went to Chengdu by private vehicle on the 7th. Xu Moumou went to multiple outpatient departments such as Hepatobiliary Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, and Gynecology in many hospitals in Chengdu on June 7, 8, 11, 11, 12, 15 and 16. . On June 18, when the patient was screened before admission, the test found that the new coronavirus nucleic acid test was positive and there were no other abnormal symptoms. The patient was diagnosed as asymptomatic.

During Xu's time in the Han Dynasty, he had performed nucleic acid tests in provincial and subordinate hospitals many times, but the results were all negative, and IgG was positive. Twelve days after leaving Han to Chengdu, the result of the nucleic acid test in the local area was positive. In response to this situation, a reporter from the Yangtze River Daily interviewed Professor Zhang Jinnong, director of the emergency department of the Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and doctoral supervisor.

Professor Zhang believes that the possibility of Xu’s recent infection with the new coronavirus in Wuhan is basically ruled out. In her case, there are three possibilities: one is contact with asymptomatic infected people during the journey to Rong or visiting a local hospital. After breathing, the virus is absorbed in the respiratory tract for a short time. Since the patient has been infected, the autoimmunity has been experienced , Coupled with antibody protection, the virus is difficult to replicate in the lungs, it will not be sick and the virus will be quickly cleared or inactivated by the body; the second is that the nucleic acid test result may be false positive, PCR detection is through gene amplification to detect a special Gene fragments, it is not surprising that there are false positives; the third is that the intestinal tract carries viral gene fragments that have lost their infectious activity, and contaminates the respiratory tract mucosa through fecal-oral transmission. Studies have shown that inactivated viral gene fragments are not contagious, but can exist for a long time in stool.

Professor Zhang reminded local citizens to take personal protection when going abroad; especially when going to the hospital for medical treatment, wear (prepared) masks, maintain spacing, pay attention to hand hygiene, and wash hands with soap or hand sanitizer after going to the toilet.
