Macha Méril, née Marie-Madeleine Gagarin, daughter of a Russian prince exiled to France, is an actress, revealed by the Nouvelle Vague, and the author of numerous works. In her new novel "Vania, Vassia et la fille de Vassia" (Liana Levi), a historical saga and portrait of a woman of character, she evokes the condition of Russian emigrants in France.
