Last Saturday, the Haute-Garonne prefecture and the regional health agency announced a new outbreak of Covid-19, the first of its kind in the department, at least spared from the coronavirus epidemic.

Everything started with a meal gathering 52 people on June 1st. "Five families in the city were in contact with a Covid-19 infected person back from Germany," said the authorities.

Since then, they have been trying to go up the chain of infection. Last Saturday, she identified 16 positive and 11 negative cases. This Friday, she announced that this cluster now counts "33 positive cases, 16 negative out of the 64 identified contact cases".

At the CHU drive-test

“Among them, people living in La Flambère camp in Toulouse have been identified. A screening operation was therefore carried out in addition to the initial investigations. A team made up of ARS, Public Health France, Médecin du Monde, PASS mobile (CHU) and the association "Rencont'rom nous" went to the camp, "says the Regional Health Agency.

All these people were invited to come to the Purpan hospital drive-test during three mornings when they were reminded of the barrier gestures and the need to respect quarantine. The health authorities remind that the virus is still circulating and that it remains necessary to be vigilant.
