Marwa, a 21-year-old leukemia survivor, shares all members of the Emirati community, especially cancer patients, and those recovering from it, her story with the emergence of the emerging coronavirus, and how a simple family visit almost killed her, and she was the one who triumphed before that thanks to God Almighty for blood cancer. Marwa says: “The story of my HIV infection started in Ramadan, due to a family visit, which was immediately followed by my falling prey to illness and mild colds like colds and lethargy. "My family was forced to take the necessary checks to make sure that the result was positive." The survivor adds: “I cannot describe my feelings when I know that I am infected with the virus, as I have fear that this may affect my health, especially since I have a bitter experience with leukemia, and I felt helpless, but the fact that my family stood by my side boosted my confidence, in addition to the role of a ministry Health and community protection, which reassured us that the virus is in its early stages, what is easy to defeat, and achieve a cure by strengthening immunity ». “The journey to resist the emerging coronavirus, and to undergo treatment, included moving my family to quarantine, and staying alone at home, and despite the difficult days that witnessed an increase in the frequency of symptoms accompanied by severe fatigue and weakness, the vigorous follow-up from the competent health authorities, and encouraging my family,” added Marwa.
