  Chen Zhixiong advocates blending the aesthetic appeal of traditional Chinese paintings with poetry and calligraphy. Regarding the pursuit of poetry and painting, Chen Zhixiong said: "Every time I unfold the paper, I often recall the ancient poems I read. For example, Li Bai's verse "Dream and Dream" said "None for clothes, wind for horses, king of clouds."
