An SOS scribbled on a piece of paper, which may have saved him. An investigation into “willful violence by a person having authority” was opened in Limoges (Haute-Vienne) after the discovery at the foot of a window of a building of a message written by a teenage girl calling for help against a marriage forced, we learned Thursday from a police source.

A worker working on a construction site in the priority district of La Bastide discovered Tuesday a word written in the first person of the singular by a person claiming to be 15 years old. She asked to notify the police and social assistance because she was "forcibly married".

Teenage girl "wore traces of leg injuries"

Immediately alerted by this worker, the police found in the building a young girl of this age, from Eastern Europe, who had thrown the word out of the window of the family apartment. The teenager was "free to move but had traces of leg injuries," according to a police source.

"We must verify everything but his allegations were considered serious enough for an order for placement in a home to be issued by the prosecution of Limoges," said the police source.

A dowry of 15,000 euros would have been paid to his parents

The teenager explained to investigators that she had initially accepted the boy's marriage proposal. According to her, a dowry of 15,000 euros was even paid by the young man's family to his parents.

"But she reversed her decision and was then hit by her father with electric cables," said the police source, who added that the father had not yet been heard on the facts.
