Affected by the epidemic, many colleges and universities made it clear that they will not start school this semester. Most graduates this year cannot have the same graduation ceremonies as before: taking graduation photos, holding graduation ceremonies, watching graduation parties...but they also have special ways to commemorate graduation.

Last week, a survey of 2,505 fresh graduates conducted by the China Youth Daily Social Survey Center's joint questionnaire (wenjuan.com) showed that 88.6% of the fresh graduates surveyed were “cloud graduates”. The graduates interviewed mainly commemorated graduation by participating in the production of graduation videos, watching online graduation ceremonies, and online shopping for degree uniforms. 83.1% of the graduates surveyed believe that this year's "cloud graduation" is the most ceremonial.

Among the fresh graduates interviewed, 52.3% were boys and 47.7% were girls.

88.6% of graduates surveyed “cloud graduated” this year

The survey shows that 88.6% of the fresh graduates surveyed “cloud graduated” this year.

Chen Miaoxin (pseudonym), a fresh graduate of a college in Jilin, once planned to invite a group of friends to take graduation photos in all corners of the school. "I used to think that everyone should have found a job when they graduated, and there was no pressure to study. In the last period of school, they must have had a good time, such as dinner, stalls in the flea market, and finally to bid farewell to classmates and teachers."

Due to the epidemic this year, Chen Miaoxin's school hosted and broadcast a "Cloud Graduation" ceremony for the fresh graduates, and the counselor recorded a graduation message for everyone. She and her classmates also enthusiastically participated in various "cloud graduation" activities. "Recently, my circle of friends has always been screened by classmates' graduation testimonials, cutout graduation photos, and old campus photos."

Zhang Hanqi (pseudonym), a fresh graduate of a college in Beijing, felt that graduation trips, graduation evenings, and wearing a degree uniform to take pictures are the three "standards" to commemorate graduation. Although there were no such commemorative events this year, Zhang Hanqi still got a different kind of touch. "The class leader called on the students to provide short videos and photos taken at school and edited the class graduation video. There are pictures of slaps in the bedroom, pictures of jokes before class, pictures of meals in the cafeteria... the moment I opened the video, I My nose was sore, and bits and pieces of college time appeared before me. I miss my classmates very much."

In order to make no regrets for graduation, Zhang Hanqi bought a degree suit from the Internet, "I also let my parents try it on, and the whole family took graduation photos together, which is particularly interesting."

Which of the graduation ceremonies are most commemorative? The survey shows that the graduation photos (69.4%), wearing degree uniforms (66.0%), holding graduation ceremonies (63.6%) are in the top three, and the others are: crown and ears (42.0%), watching the graduation party (41.0 %), eating loose meals (41.0%), etc.

Although there are no such activities this year, the graduates interviewed still have other forms of graduation commemoration: 63.5% of the graduates interviewed participated in the production of the graduation video, 58.5% of the graduates watched the online graduation ceremony held by the school, 46.2% Of the graduates surveyed purchased online degree uniforms, and 41.0% of the graduates interviewed made a graduation photo.

Shuman, Executive Deputy Dean of the Institute of Psychological Quality Education of East China Jiaotong University, believes that the graduation ceremony has a special function and value in a person’s academic career. It takes the entrust and hope of the school and the teacher to let students study for this period. The journey ends. "It leaves students with good memories, and also warns students in a form to cherish the past and to create a better life than now."

83.1% of graduates surveyed believe that "cloud graduation" is more ceremonial

"We made graduation videos, took graduation photos with our families, and collected online graduation ceremonies. These were not in the past." Zhang Hanqi believes that although there are no traditional activities in the special graduation season, there are many new elements. .

83.1% of the graduates surveyed believe that this year's "cloud graduation" is more ceremonial.

"'Cloud Graduation' brings a new sense of ceremony. For example, after this year's graduate online reply, we will take the picture of the reply and pass it on to the students. Many students are very moved and said that they are very commemorative and have a valuable value. "Schumann believes that although "Cloud Graduation" is not yet so full of ceremonies, it will definitely make students more cherish.

Chen Miaoxin said that the long-awaited graduation season was finally realized on the "cloud", and many planned itineraries were not realized. It was somewhat regretful and somewhat empty in my heart. "It is also because of this that I miss my time in school more. Every bit of it at school, it feels sweet."

Zhang Hanqi said that "Cloud Graduation" gave her a special and unforgettable graduation experience. "Under the premise of ensuring the safety of students, it is not easy for the school to smoothly carry out all processes as scheduled. I like the school."

85.7% of the graduates interviewed admitted that the last campus life ended on the "cloud", which is a bit regretful. At the same time, 96.1% of the graduates surveyed said they understood and supported the school’s relevant decisions.

In Schumann's view, this year's "Cloud Graduation" is a helpless move, and young people are the most energetic and the most able to keep up with the times. "Graduation in the cloud" is a new experience for graduates, an opportunity to use their creativity, and a good opportunity for growth. He hopes that in the face of new changes, college students should learn to think positively, actively explore, be creative, accumulate past experience, look forward to a bright future, and realize the significance of "cloud graduation" to individuals.
