Let's start with the good news. Syria won. Damascus resisted many years of heavy fighting - with the help of Russia and Iran. To that bail - not victorious relations, but a new front of the war against the rebellious republic, this time - the economic war. This is the traditional reception of the British and Americans. Cannot be defeated in battle - let the bony hand of hunger strangle the enemy. They used this weapon even against young Soviet Russia, when it won the bloody Civil War and drove out the interventionists. The Entente armies were replaced by famine in the Volga region.

Now, the same run-in in Russia is used against Syria. It is bad news. The United States yesterday adopted a new Caesar Act, strangling the Syrian economy — as if it had little war, few robberies, little pandemic. Caesar in this case is not the Roman emperor. This is the nickname of Syrian Magnitsky, an American agent named Caesar, who, according to legend, delivered thousands of photographs of “victims of the Syrian regime” to his western employers. Whether Caesar really was or is it a fiction of the CIA is still unknown.

The United States is the only country in the world that considers itself entitled to judge other countries by its own court and by its own laws. According to American concepts, the whole world must comply with American laws. And if they adopted a law against Syria, then all countries and companies that trade with Syria or supply goods to it fall under it. They also appear on the black list, and then those who do business with them appear on the black list. We are talking about Russian and Chinese companies.

President Assad, his wife Asma, and many other important persons fall under the new law.

Russia does not recognize America’s right to judge the whole world. Countries can be judged by the International Court of Justice, the same court on which the United States also imposed sanctions, confiscated property and cut accounts. They do not need an objective, impartial court.

Syria has long been at the forefront of the Americans, because it did not surrender to the grace of its Israeli neighbor and remained the only disobedient country in the Middle East. The other day, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said in an interview with the Arab press that if Syria had agreed to peace with Israel in 2008, there would have been no Syrian “civil” war. It would seem that Syria, under the leadership of Assad, did not conflict with Israel, correctly assessing the inequality of forces. The border was calm, and the Islamists constantly accused Assad of "collaborating with the Zionists." But calm was not enough for them. Syria did not agree to abandon the Golan Heights, did not recognize the Israeli occupation of Palestine and cruelly paid.

Recently, the United States, a country with a powerful Israeli lobby, has stepped up pressure on Syria with its ships. On June 1, a District of Columbia court sentenced Syria to pay tens of millions of dollars to relatives of Israelis with American passports who died in Palestine at the hands of partisans. It would seem, what does Syria have to do with it? Syrians are not up to Palestine, God forbid to cope with their problems. But for the fairest American court in the world, this is not an argument.

Syria sympathizes with the Palestinians, the court decided, so let it pay millions for each killed, even if the killed was an Israeli soldier.

On June 17 he was involved " an act of Caesar " criminalizing virtually all trade with Syria. According to the  " act of Caesar " even not talking about American citizens - America assumes the right to judge Syria for its alleged mistreatment of the Syrian citizens.

Theoretically, as in the case of the Magnitsky act, not only the leaders of Syria and big businessmen are sanctioned, but almost any business transaction falls under the Caesar Act . And not only in Syria, but also in neighboring Lebanon, where the  Caesar act makes banking impossible, one of the most important sectors of the economy of this once prosperous country. Russia also suffered a serious blow - any trade with Syria becomes criminal in the eyes of the United States and may lead to the closure of payment instruments.

The currency of Syria and Lebanon plummeted; imported goods disappeared. After the devastation caused by the war, the Syrians cannot even repair schools and hospitals. Extensive plans for the reconstruction of the country, the return of Syrian refugees from Turkey and Europe are becoming unrealistic. “The United States wants to starve Lebanon and Syria,” said Nasrallah, the leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah party. The Jordanians, a staunch ally of the United States, are also upset - they hoped to participate in the restoration of Syria. The Syrians have one option - to give up, remove President Bashar al-Assad, to put on a figure acceptable to the Americans, writes the Los Angeles Times. That is, it didn’t succeed in the war - let’s make it hunger, the Americans say.

The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed outrage at this step by the American authorities. US unilateral sanctions have put hundreds of thousands of Syrians on the brink of survival, the Foreign Ministry said. Fuel is blocked by previous unilateral sanctions. In addition, the Americans steal Syrian oil and still dare to talk about their "humanitarian aid." Are Syrian lives worthless? The price of US regrets about the murdered Floyd is low, if at the same time they strangle hundreds of thousands of Syrians.

American sanctions against Russia, China, Syria, Iran and Venezuela make the urgent task of freeing the world economy from the American dictate even more urgent. The Americans do not even realize that along the way they will do themselves more damage than other countries. Sovereign powers cannot accept American claims for world domination.
