Chen Chunxiu, a farmer daughter in Guanxian County, Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, has always dreamed of entering college and using knowledge to change her destiny.

For this dream, the family has not spared much effort. In order for her to study, her brother dropped out of school at home, "to be able to pass the exam, let her go if you want to pass the pot and sell iron."

In the summer of 2004, 20-year-old Chen Chunxiu participated in the college entrance examination, passed the junior college level, and applied for three volunteers, but this year until the weather turned cool, she did not receive an acceptance letter. Afterwards, she went out to work part-time with regret.

Fifteen years later, she has become a family, her family has improved, and she has regained her dreams. She took the adult college entrance examination and was admitted to Qufu Normal University. It was not until this year that she applied for student status that she discovered that the student status system had her admission information for the year.

System information shows that "Chen Chunxiu" was admitted to Shandong University of Technology that year, and studied in this university for three years. On the China Higher Education Student Information Network (abbreviated as "Xinxin Network"), Chen Chunxiu saw that the "Chen Chunxiu" in the system was consistent with his identity information, only the photo was not his own.

On May 21 this year, Teacher Chen Chunxiujing reminded that for the first time, the information of student status can be checked on the Xuexin website. When she entered her ID number, Xuexin.com showed that she had enrolled in the Department of International Economics and Trade (Specialty) of Shandong University of Technology on September 1, 2004, and her departure date was July 1, 2007. Husband Li Junwei joked with her: "You have a college graduation certificate, what adult college entrance exam do you report."

The stranger in the system, whose name, gender, ethnicity, date of birth, and ID number all match Chen Chunxiu.

In the 2004 college entrance examination, among the three volunteers Chen Chunxiu reported, the first two were schools in Shanghai, and the last one was Shandong University of Technology.

Li Junwei’s sister Li Jungai told the China Youth Daily and China Youth Daily reporter that his brother and sister-in-law immediately suspected “whether they were replaced by others”. They went to Guanxian Wuxun Senior High School and Guanxian Education and Sports Bureau who had studied with Chen Chunxiu. The answer was that her file had been transferred to Shandong University of Technology.

On May 22, Li Junwei contacted the admission office of Shandong University of Technology. Four days later, the investigation team of Shandong University of Technology came to Chen Chunxiu's house. They told Chen Chunxiu that she was impostorized.

The school also provided a copy of Chen Chunxiu's "Electronic Archive of 2004 College Enrollment Candidates". In this file, all the information, including photos, belong to her. The file shows that Chen Chunxiu's college entrance examination score was 546 (Science and Technology), and in 2004, the specialty line of Shandong Science and Technology was 519.

On June 3, Shandong University of Technology published a "Public Notice on the Cancellation of Chen Chunxiu's Education" on its official website: "After the data collection, college contact verification and school review, our school's 2004 international economics and trade major Chen Chunxiu Department Impersonation for admission, after the school president’s office meeting researched and determined, our school will cancel Chen Chunxiu’s academic information in accordance with the procedures.”

The education department has always had provisions for reexamination of new students. In 1990, the “Regulations on the Management of Students in Ordinary Colleges and Universities” promulgated by the former National Education Commission required that after the admission of new students, the school should conduct a review in accordance with the enrollment regulations. "Re-examinations that do not meet the enrollment requirements will be dealt with by the school's circumstances until the admission qualification is cancelled. Anyone who commits malpractices for personal gains will be cancelled and returned after being verified. If the circumstances are bad, the relevant department must be investigated."

However, Shandong University of Technology obviously did not find out the qualification issue of "Chen Chunxiu". Chen Chunxiu once introduced to the media that Shandong University of Technology replied to her: "At that time, the materials were all seen by the naked eye. This substitute material is relatively complete and the most done, so I did not find it."

In 2004, Chen Chunxiu did not have a fixed phone or mobile phone at home. She wrote her correspondence address and filled in her neighbor’s phone number when filling in the voluntary report. She has never received an offer letter, nor has she heard any calls from her neighbors.

On June 10, the media reported on Chen Chunxiu's encounter. An official notice from Guanxian said on the same day that the county party committee and county government instructed the county disciplinary commission, county public security bureau, and county education and sports bureau to establish a joint investigation team.

The next day, the investigation team informed that the replacement was a staff member of a certain street office in the county. The bulletin called the impostor two years younger than Chen Chunxiu "Chen Moumou."

The joint investigation team stated that the impostor was originally named "Chen Moumou" and was born in 1986 with two ID numbers. One set of identity information was cancelled by the public security organ on August 8, 2012 because of "no photo"; another A set of identity information showed that Chen had changed his name to the same name as Chen Chunxiu before entering Shandong University of Technology. After graduating in 2007, she entered the audit office of Yanzhuang Sub-district Office in Guanxian County.

According to the "Beijing News" report, the replacement was Chen Yanping. His father, Chen Jupeng, worked in the county commercial bureau. After leaving, he operated a local trading company. He also partnered with others to open a municipal engineering company. He won many local government engineering projects. Mostly rural infrastructure projects. A reporter from China Youth Daily and China Youth Daily made several phone calls to try to contact Chen Jupeng, and his mobile phone was turned off.

Li Jungai told reporters that on the evening of June 10th media reports, Chen Yanping's party found Chen Chunxiu's family through an intermediary, hoping to "solve the matter." During the conversation, the middleman once said that Chen Yanping's father spent 2,000 yuan through an intermediary to "buy a school membership" for his daughter to enter school.

Regarding this statement, Chen Chunxiu's family said that she couldn't accept it. "She changed her household registration, can an agent do it?" Li Jungai said, and his brother rejected the other party. "Is it not how much money can be compensated for, can life be compensated? How much 2,000 yuan can be spent to buy out a life? I hope the other party will apologize openly, and the other party will never have any news, nor Come forward."

They wanted to know how Chen Yanping replaced Chen Chunxiu in college. "How did the other party understand her situation? How did the notice be intercepted? How did the file be taken away? Why did the same surname all replace Chen? These should be clarified, to be fair." Li Jungai said, knowing After being impostored for this matter, Chen Chunxiu always felt aggrieved, "Just cry, Bella, Bella, tears."

On June 15, the Guanxian County Joint Investigation Group disclosed that Chen Yanping's college entrance examination score was 303 points (for the liberal arts), which was 243 points lower than the score for the liberal arts colleges that year.

"The news says it's more than 200 points away, and she can't stand it psychologically. But if you study for college yourself, you can't stand being replaced by such a person, what a difference." Li Jungai said. She said that her brother and sister-in-law are classmates in junior high school. "I am one year older than them. I often eat with them at noon. She studies very well. Every exam is the first and second in the class."

After graduating from junior high school, Chen Chunxiu was admitted to the Wushu Senior High School, a key local high school. "At that time, there were only two villages". The family decided, "Since the child learns so well, it would be a shame not to let her go". Chen Chunxiu’s brother did not perform as well as her, and his father said, "Whoever studies well will let anyone go." Her brother didn't read on and kept farming at home. In Li Jungai's view, this was rare at the time.

A few years ago, Chen Chunxiu’s father was included in the poverty-stricken households who filed a card because of illness, and finally got rid of poverty by 2018, but now his annual income is only more than 8,000 yuan. He said that if his daughter can go back to college in the past, "certainly, she would have to let her go to the school if she broke the pot and sold iron."

But that year, Chen Chunxiu did not wait for the admission letter of her dream. She worked as a worker in a food factory or an electronics factory, worked as a waiter in a ramen restaurant, and also worked as a cashier.

Li Jungai clearly remembered that when Chen Chunxiu was working in an electronics factory, her meal was deducted from her wages. In order to save money, she was reluctant to eat well and lost more than 80 pounds. "If she didn't get replaced by someone and graduated from college, she wouldn't be in this situation."

After getting married, Chen Chunxiu returned to Guanxian County and became a contracted kindergarten teacher with a monthly salary of more than 1,000 yuan. Outside of work, she keeps the habit of studying. After years of hard work, she and her husband Li Junwei had a car and a house in the county.

"He knows that his wife has always had the dream of going to school, so he said that my wife can afford it now. If you want to go to school, you can go to an adult college entrance examination, but this happened to me unexpectedly." Li Jungai said.

According to reports, Chen Yanping's uncle Zhang Feng was the party secretary of Yanzhuang Township (now Yanzhuang Sub-district Office), and was transferred to the Guanxian County Audit Bureau and was receiving talks.

The reporter noticed that Zhang Feng did appear in the court's judgment documents as the legal representative of the Yanzhuang Township Government. According to public information, Zhang Feng was redesignated as the director of the Guanxian County Audit Bureau in 2012 and in 2017 as the director of the County Housing and Construction Bureau.

On June 16, a reporter from China Youth Daily and China Youth Daily verified the matter with the investigation team. The other party said that the case was still under investigation and that it would notify the progress in due course. The staff of the propaganda department of Guanxian County Party Committee confirmed that the investigation team is investigating Zhang Feng. "The specific information will be given to the investigation team after the investigation, and we will release it."

The impostor Chen Yanping has been canceled his employment contract by the Yanzhuang Sub-district Office. According to the report, the Guanxian County Commission for Discipline Inspection filed her case for review and transferred her clues to the public security organ for her alleged violation of the law. The investigation is ongoing.

"Now my family is waiting for the investigation result, and we have already appointed a lawyer. We will follow a formal legal approach to resolve this matter." Li Jungai said that for many years, Chen Chunxiu has been eager to go to college and educate his two children. Pour a lot of effort. "She said that she didn't get into college that year, but was forced to choose her life, hoping that her children would have the right to choose life and work freely in the future."

On behalf of the family, Li Jungai expressed his position to reporters: "We have no intention to harm another person's life, we hope to get a fair return for our own lives."
