Kansai Electric Power Co., Ltd. filed a lawsuit on the 16th for damages to the company due to a series of scandals such as the problem of receipt of gold products, and asked the former five management teams for damages of 1,936 million yen.

Kansai Electric Power Co. appealed to former management of Makoto Yagi, former president Shigeki Iwane, former vice president Hideki Toyomatsu Ryohei Shirai, and former counselor Shosuke Mori.

Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. received a huge amount of money from a former assistant in Takahama-cho, Fukui Prefecture, where the executives have a nuclear power plant, and secretly compensated for a portion of the executive remuneration reduced due to the deterioration of business performance. Such scandals were discovered one after another, and some shareholders were required to sue the management at the time.

An investigation by an outside lawyer found that the five former management teams did not perform their duties properly and caused damage to the company.

For this reason, Kansai Electric Power has filed a complaint in the Osaka District Court on the 16th for damages of 1,936 million yen for the five people.

The series of scandals surrounding the nuclear power plant will be held in court, and the former management will be held responsible.

On the other hand, regarding this issue, civic groups have filed a complaint with the Osaka District Public Prosecutor's Office for suspected special back office, requesting the former management to pursue criminal liability.
