Chinanews.com, Hangzhou, June 16 (Guo Qiyu) At 21:00 on November 18, 2019, two Ferraris and a Mustang raced in the Hangzhou Banshan Tunnel. On June 16, all three drivers were handed over to the public security organ, and they will be sent to the detention center soon. According to the effective judgment of the People's Court of Gongshu District in Hangzhou, the three persons were sentenced to detention for dangerous driving offences and were fined.

The total length of the Banshan Tunnel is 2 kilometers, with arcs. On the night of November 18 last year, Mr. Li, a Hangzhou citizen, drove normally from north to south in the second lane of Banshan Tunnel. He suddenly heard a roaring engine roar from behind. Then he saw a white Ferrari, a blue Ferrari, and a red wild horse dragging "you chase me" in the tunnel. Mr. Li called the police immediately after driving to a safe place.

The traffic police department immediately investigated and collected evidence after receiving the police. At 22:40 on the same day, the owner of the red mustang car Peng Mou was arrested. The afternoon of the next day, the blue Ferrari owner Shen Mou and the white Ferrari driver (non-owner) Chen Mou also went to the case for investigation.

At first, Peng denied denying knowing Shen and Chen, and only said that he had met by chance on the road, but he didn't pay attention to speeding. But in the face of sufficient evidence, Peng confessed to the deliberate drag racing behavior that day. The three sports cars ignored the traffic regulations and continued to accelerate in the tunnel. They repeatedly overwhelmed the traffic and forced overtaking, and almost caused traffic accidents.

According to the measured values, the speeds of blue Ferrari, white Ferrari and red Mustang reached 115.03-118.36km/h, 145.84-151.25km/h and 154.10-160.14km/h respectively. The speed limit for this section of the road is 80 km/h, with a maximum speeding of 200%.

After the incident, Shen was fined 200 yuan for driving in danger. Chen was sentenced to revoke his driving license in accordance with the law due to dangerous driving and was fined 1,500 yuan. Peng was punished for driving in a dangerous manner and his driving license was revoked according to law, and a fine of 1,700 yuan was imposed.

After that, the three drivers were prosecuted by the People's Procuratorate of Gongshu District for the crime of dangerous driving. After trial, the People's Court of Gongshu District held that the three defendants violated the relevant provisions of the Road Safety Law and drove motor vehicles on the road in an overspeed chase and race. The circumstances were bad and they jeopardized public safety. Their actions have all constituted dangerous driving crimes.

Finally, Chen and Peng were convicted of dangerous driving, sentenced to two months and 15 days of detention, and fined 5,000 yuan. Shen was guilty of dangerous driving, sentenced to 15 days of detention for a month, and fined 3,000 yuan. (Finish)
