Agnès Varda (1928-2019) began her career as a photographer at the Festival d'Avignon and the Théâtre National Populaire by Jean Vilar in 1948.

But, it is at the cinema that she makes herself known as a figure of the "New Wave" , having fun with codes and conventions in the middle. Her director's career was rewarded with an Honorary Palm in 2015, then, shortly before her 90th birthday, with an Honorary Oscar .
