This is the kind of news that sounds like a call to order as many abandon barrier gestures in a region relatively untouched by the coronavirus epidemic. A new Covid-19 outbreak has just been identified in the Toulouse agglomeration, the Haute-Garonne prefecture and the regional health agency (ARS) announced on Saturday evening.

It all started on June 1, with a meal gathering 52 people. "Five families in the agglomeration were in contact with a Covid-19 infected person back from Germany", specify the health authorities.

16 positive cases, eleven negative so far

Investigations by the contact-tracing cell made it possible to find and alert the guests. "All of these people are currently in solitary confinement for 14 days," says the ARS. Among them, the test results that have already fallen identified 16 positive cases and 11 negative cases. The other participants are awaiting either screening or results.

“This situation shows that viral circulation, although weak, requires maintaining a high level of vigilance. Respect for hygiene, protection and social distancing measures remains a priority, ”insist the local authorities.
