The snow leopard was found by the border guard Eldori Nurselik. Because he lived in the Yili pastoral area in Xinjiang for a long time before joining the army, and with good eyesight, he was mainly responsible for vigilance and observation when patrolling. Eldori Nurselik told reporters that the location of the snow leopard was only 3 kilometers away from the Uzontush River Post.

Eldori Nurselik introduced, "We found that an object was moving during the patrol, and carefully observed it was a snow leopard. Then we quickly photographed it with camera equipment."
After returning to the company, Eldory Nurselik immediately took out the pictures he took and watched with his comrades. Because it is active near the snow line and between the snow all year round, it is called "Snow Leopard". Its fur is off-white, with black spots and black rings, and its relatively long and thick tail is an obvious feature that distinguishes snow leopards from other similar species.
