He no longer goes out without his helmet. In Lorient (Morbihan), a man no longer dares to leave his home without protecting his head since he was attacked by gulls, reports Le Télégramme . The man saw the birds establish their nest on the roof of a garage at the exit of his accommodation, located in the district of Keroman.

The facts occurred this week, while the Lorientais was trying to go out to walk his dog. Feeling threatened, the birds attacked him several times. "They hit us," says the man at the Telegram . The gulls having laid eggs in their nest, they adopt a more aggressive behavior to protect their young. Contacted by Ouest-France , a member of the Bird Protection League explains that the bird wishes to “intimidate”, but will not attack the man.

No sterilization in this part of the city

The inhabitant contacted the town hall, but the latter explained to him that there was nothing he could do, the species being protected. In Lorient, as in many coastal cities, egg sterilization operations are regularly carried out, but not in this sector of the port city.

During confinement, many birds have nested in areas deserted by humans. This was the case in Nice, where a couple of gulls settled on the Promenade des Anglais.
