During his professional life he composed, among other things, the hymn "God's love is like the beach and like the grass", which is one of the most frequently sung in the Swedish church, and he has also translated the hymn "Your hands are full of flowers".

Lars Åke Lundberg also worked for a period as a prison priest at the Österåkeran institute and as a church pastor in the Kungsholm congregation in Stockholm. He also created new forms of worship, including a jazz worship service, which came to be mentioned in the late 1960s.

As a song singer and composer, he published seven albums during the 1960s and 1970s, and he also published a number of books - including "Prayer - the language of hope", "The child" and "Handbook in sermon".
