Publicity

The shock after the terrorist attack in Kafolo, in the north of the country, on the border with Burkina Faso, on the front page of the Ivorian press, and accents of a vigil of arms too.

The response will be commensurate with the attack,  " said Hamed Bakayoko on the front page of L'Expression . The interim Ivorian Prime Minister assured that "  reinforcements  " were going to be deployed, and that a "  search operation  " was underway, note the Abidjan daily.

“Hambak” is also on the front page of the newspaper Le Patriote . The most important thing is to protect the populations  ", declares the Minister of Defense there that he is also, "the  whole area is cordoned off  ".

Pending a response to the extent of the attack, the Ivorian army has deployed reinforcements in the area concerned, details the daily Le Temps. These are the detachments that left Korhogo and Bouaké  ”.

For its part, the daily newspaper Générations Nouvelles , close to ex-PAN Guillaume Soro, stresses that the army was "  surprised  " by  armed "  strangers " ...

While Le Quotidien d'Abidjan refers to "a  heavily armed commando  " and wonders whether or not it is a "  jihadist attack  ",

And that the Ivorian newspaper today evokes the "  carnage of Kafolo  ", stressing that the Ivorian intelligence services have "  seen nothing coming  ".

Twenty years in prison required against Vital Kamerhe

In the DRC, the requisitions for trials are said to be "a  hundred days  ". Twenty years in prison were required by the prosecution against the main accused, Vital Kamerhe, and ten years of "  forfeiture of rights to exercise public office  ". This is indeed the sentence required by the prosecutor of the Democratic Republic of the Congo against Vital Kamerhe, the main accused in an unprecedented anti-corruption trial in the Congo.  The ex-president-bis  ” is tried with two co-accused for alleged embezzlement of public funds.

Requests that sounded "  like a bomb  ", launches Cas-Info. This Congolese newspaper notes that the attorney general asked the court to apply "  all the rigor of the law to offenders  ", that is to say twenty years of forced labor requested against the former chief of staff of President Félix Tshisekedi, but also the "  Confiscation of money housed in his wife's bank accounts (...) between January 2019 and today  ", and the seizure of real estate "  acquired during the same period  ", not only by the Kamerhe couple, but also by two of his relatives. For Cas-Info in any case, there is no doubt that these required sentences seriously threaten the "  political future  " of Vital Kamerhe.

For its part, the defense of Vital Kamerhe pleads "  the absence of evidence  " against the accused. “  Despite 20 years of forced labor required: Vital Kamerhe pleads not guilty! "Complete Prosperity . The former chief of staff of the Head of State "  is still wondering  " about the real reason for his detention to date, "  given that no evidence shows the facts (who) him ( are) imputed. For his advice, it is a relentlessness on their client,  ”reports this Congolese newspaper.

To this interrogation which is not really one, Radio Okapi brings in fact the response of Vital Kamerhe, who speaks of a “  political trial  ” and rather claims that he is still trying to “  understand the reasons for his presence in prison  " Prosecuted for alleged embezzlement of public funds, corruption and money laundering, the three defendants in this extraordinary trial "  therefore await their fate on June 20,  " warns Radio Okapi .

Exactly. Will the court follow the Advocate General's requisitions? “  We are waiting to see, states Le Pays, in Burkina Faso. (…) We are only at the requisition stage. Perhaps you never know, his lawyers will manage to get him out of trouble; he who, since the opening of the trial, has never ceased to proclaim his innocence. (…) In any case, everything  leads us to believe that the file is not empty, ”points out this Ugandan daily, stressing also“  the pugnacity of the magistrates in charge of the file who, despite the sudden death of their colleague, do not did not allow themselves to be discouraged. If they want to go all the way. It's all to their credit!  "Appreciates Le Pays .
