Empire Magazine invited its readers to choose the greatest movie heroes of all time. The survey results were published in the July issue. The list of the 50 best characters, according to the audience, was led by Indiana Jones - "an archaeologist who pounds the Nazis and hates snakes", as he was called in the publication.

In the review of the new issue, the editors noted the importance of the hero for both viewers and filmmakers.

“In our recent survey, Indiana Jones won the first place as the main movie character - a character inspired by the traditions of the series on which George Lucas and Steven Spielberg grew up, and headlong rushing into a series of reckless blockbusters, filled with bold shoots, unmistakable sense of where and where evil, and sincere love for archeology, ”wrote Empire employee Ben Travis.

Indiana Jones first appeared in the 1981 film Indiana Jones: The Search for the Lost Ark. Steven Spielberg as a director and George Lucas, who participated in the development of the script, was inspired by the tapes of the 1940s. The main character was played by Harrison Ford.

Later, the story continued in three more films. The premiere of the fifth part of the franchise is scheduled for 2022, where Ford will again return to his role.

Ellen Ripley, the main character of the Alien franchise, took the third place. Over the years, directors such as Ridley Scott have worked on tapes. James Cameron, David Fincher and Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Artist Sigourney Weaver noted that she likes this character. She expressed joy at the fact that Ripley still finds a response from the audience.

At the moment, a full list of characters is not available on the website of the publication. Nevertheless, it is known that the hero Keanu Reeves John Wick is listed in it. “When I think about this character, his willpower, stamina and honor come to mind. Can he serve as a role model for children? Except under easy supervision, ”the actor admitted in a conversation with Empire.
