Rapper Kaaris. - PJB / SIPA

  • A rumor around a mixtape of Sevran rappers unleashes passions on Twitter.
  • Kaaris, emblematic rapper of Sevran, would not have been invited on the project, causing the amazement of his many fans.
  • "20 Minutes" takes stock of "the Sevran mixtape affair".

Something in the air. For the past few days, a secret musical project has sparked many rumors on social networks, and is again fueling old rivalries in the rap world. The nature of the project? A mixtape bringing together rappers from Sevran. The point of tension? Kaaris, emblematic artist of the city of Seine-Saint-Denis, would not be part of the adventure. There is even talk of a "boycott" already.

If the story may seem completely anecdotal (which will probably be the case in a few weeks), for the moment it unleashes passions and gives fuel to the fire in the story Kaaris vs Booba. Between rumors and official reactions, 20 Minutes takes stock of the “Sevran mixtape affair”.

The mixtape of discord

Difficult to understand where the rumor started. As many rap specialist media report, Da Uzi, a Sevran artist, is believed to be behind a mixtape bringing together a large number of rappers from the city of 93. Among them, Maes, 13 Block and Kalash Criminel . Nothing extraordinary so far, except for one detail: Kaaris, emblematic figure of Sevran, who we recall, downright dedicated a sound to his city, would not have been invited.

The rapper has reportedly expressed his amazement on Snapchat, as relayed by the Rapmedia Twitter account. The clues: the words "sucker", "vyce detector", a finger emoji, a photo of Kaaris in front of a captioned door "thank me for the work" and a photo of a little girl upset with the legend "But I didn't do anything to you".

For many Internet users the message is clear (when not really, if it is?), And it was enough to set the powder on fire.

Divergences

Because for many fans of the rapper, a mixtape made in Sevran without Kaaris is a bit like a Koh-Lanta without Claude, it does not have much interest ... Another subtlety of the case, some believe that the success of Kaaris put a spotlight on Sevran, and opened the door to young artists from the city. In other words, no Kaaris, no Maes or 13 Block. A point of view that did not wow everyone.

As Rapmedia relays, Da Uzi, a priori at the controls of this mixtape, would have reacted to Kaaris' messages on Snap, by relaying a message from his manager. An ambivalent post: "No rapper has ever given force to Sevran remember it well ... It is Sevran who gave force to certain rappers of his city, is it written in a rather passive aggressive style and a construction of Renaud's phrase. Sevran is a city known for something else before rap and that's why each rapper in our city creates a craze but it is never the rappers who created our city. "The situation seems rather bad, but a reversal of the situation, the message ends on an opening note:" V2V [the manager] does not close any door to the famous artists of Sevran who want to help, support and give strength to young people " End of the story ? No.

Booba at the controls?

In the story, an artist takes a particular hit: Maes, a rapper from Sevran who would appear on the mixtape (remember that for the moment we don't even know which mixtape it really is). Why him in particular? Beyond its good sales and its particular flow, Maes is also known to be one of the protégés of Booba, aka the sworn enemy of Kaaris. For some it is therefore no doubt: B2O played its influence on Maes so that Kaaris does not appear on the mixtape.

So would Booba pull all the strings from Miami? Not sure that he has that to do, but he still took the time to tease Kaaris in a story: "Poor Armand, I told you that your only way out was the fight but t 'never listen to daddy'. Simple but effective. The fact remains that we still do not know with certainty who does what with whom and how.

Epilogue

What if this whole story ended well? Nothing is impossible. Some actors in this case have also decided not to put oil on the fire and to temper it all. Kalash Criminal, who should be part of this mixtape, notably sent a welcome message to Kaaris. "Come play with us igo," he wrote on Twitter.

And what about the main interested party? In an audio recording published on Snapchat, Kaaris explains that he never commented on this story, and plays the card of appeasement: "If they make a mixtape and they feel that I should not be in it, it doesn’t there is no problem, everyone does what they want. "Thank me for the work", I've been putting it on for a month. I even put it in my album, it's something I saw on the Internet, I'm talking about the trap, nothing to do with Sevran. Da Uzi told the truth, the city of Sevran was known in relation to what happened. Thank goodness today is known for music, sports, cinema and associations. So it's the Internet that uses that to create something. I know it's nice to other people who would like there to be a real problem, but nothing to do with it. I always thanked Da Uzi because he supported me at a specific time and for that, I thank him for phew. It's the poto, there is nothing at all, all that is that shit. End of the story ?
