"Ranked at the top of the 2020 Environmental Performance Index of the universities of Yale and Columbia, I am a Scandinavian country, homeland of the writer Hans Christian Andersen and his emblematic Little Mermaid ... I am, I am ..." You have recognized Denmark, of course!

Ambitious policies

For the past twenty years, the country has in fact halved its CO2 emissions, and is pursuing ambitious policies on most of the indicators in the PPE classification, such as air and water quality, biodiversity protection, or policies to fight global warming.

Conversely, as the video from our partner Brut explains below, the United States is in 24th place, far behind the other countries with a similar development index. And may even do even less in the years to come, according to the authors of the ranking, due to the removal of many environmental regulations by the Trump government.
