Due to the coronavirus, the Solidays music festival, scheduled for the end of June and in which Europe 1 is a partner, will not take place. Faced with financial difficulties, the organizing association, Solidarité Sida, asked its supporters to help it raise one million euros.

No Solidays 2020 but a huge hole in the box. The music festival, of which Europe 1 is a partner, was to "re-enchant the world" from June 19. Unfortunately, the coronavirus got the better of most of the cultural events of the summer and Solidays was no exception. The festival was preparing for a very large crowd, after a record 2019 edition. Instead, "70% of the association's resources" have disappeared, according to Solidarité Sida. The association organizing the festival is forced to launch a call for donations.

108 solidarity programs in 22 countries thanks to the 2019 edition

"For the first time in its history, Solidarité Sida is appealing for generosity. There is still a million euros missing from the association's coffers", she explains. Or a third of the deficit caused by the cancellation of the festival. Indeed, in recent weeks, public and private partners have partially offset the loss of 3.2 million euros in profit.

It is the funding of the numerous patient assistance and prevention programs that is threatened by this loss of cash. The 2019 edition of the festival, for example, supported 108 programs in 22 countries.
