The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam will reopen the main hall on 1 July with a performance by the piano duo Arthur and Lucas Jussen. The brothers give two concerts for an audience of up to a hundred visitors.
The BankGiro Loterij ZomerSessies are the first concerts since the Concertgebouw had to close 111 days ago.
According to CEO Simon Reinink, this is a special moment. "This concert feels like an important step in our path to recovery as a cultural sector."
Although the Jussen brothers perform worldwide, this concert will be extra special for them. "It is a great honor for us to be able to perform at this reopening. We look forward to giving a concert with an audience, especially in the Concertgebouw."
During the concert, the piano duo will play a selection of the most popular works for piano four hands. Maurice Ravel's ma mère l'oye and Fantasie in f by Franz Schubert pass by.
Tickets for the BankGiro Loterij ZomerSessies start on Monday 15 June and the concerts will take place on 1 July at 7 pm and 9 pm.
