Quantum Surgical robot - Quantum Surgical

The Montpellier University Hospital (Hérault) announces that it has successfully operated on a 56-year-old patient suffering from a liver tumor with the medical robot from Quantum Surgical, a Montpellier-based company. This tool allowed Professor Boris Guiu to plan the intervention in advance on the 3D images of the patient, and to perform the gesture with precision, guided by the robot. A “world first”, notes the Montpellier hospital.

"This first treatment by thermoablation with robotic assistance made it possible to destroy the tumor in its entirety with an excellent margin," explains Boris Guiu, surgeon and head of the radiological diagnostic and interventional department of Saint-Eloi hospital, where the operation is held. We couldn't have done better. The patient is doing very well. He returned home the next day to resume a normal life. "

Bertin Nahum, specialist in medical robotics

"Quantum Surgical has left its mark on the medical robotics sector and reinforces its ambition," says Bertin Nahum, its president and founder.

The Montpellier entrepreneur, who has received several awards for his projects, has specialized in the sector for several years: Bertin Nahum had already stirred the lusts of the medical world, with the company Medtech, by developing robots capable of helping surgeons in knee surgery, or neurology.
