The members of the Executive Council also agreed that the salary will be frozen from October and will not be adjusted according to inflation.

  Lin Zhengyue said that although the public finances are facing great challenges, the SAR Government has already indicated that it has no plans to reduce civil servants or implement a voluntary separation plan. She said that the Executive Council has decided to freeze civil servants’ salaries and has not deviated from the mechanism.
