With the approach of a first deadline given by the government, fixed at June 23 before being pushed back, the motorists scramble to make an appointment in the technical control centers. Bernard Bourrier, CEO of the Autovision network, advises those concerned not to rush.

Since the exit from containment, the technical control centers are running at full speed. For two months, no checks could be carried out, and many motorists are now afraid of ending up late. In question, a hiccup in the communication from the government which had fixed a deadline of June 23 ... before correcting the shot and giving more margin, pushing back the technical controls which should have taken place between March 13 and 23 June. "The law allows them to pass between June 24 and October 5," said Bernard Bourrier, CEO of the Autovision network.

Before making an appointment, he advises the motorists concerned to go to the Autovision network website, where a converter provides their new deadline. "There was a 104-day shift because of the confinement," explains Bernard Bourrier. Those who should have passed it before March 13 have until June 25, and so on.

"We try to shift as much as possible

Please note, motorists whose deadline is June 24 and beyond do not benefit from a postponement. "So people who are late should not penalize those who absolutely must pass it before summer ... When someone makes an appointment, we ask for the initial technical control date, and we try to shift as much as possible" explains Bernard Bourrier.

Strict health protocol

Because between those who think they are late and those who prefer to be reassured before hitting the road this summer, the influx is difficult to manage. "The centers are oversaturated. The controllers make days that are appalling", assures Bernard Bourrier.

Especially since health protocols slow down work. "We protect our staff, they have masks, gloves, coveralls ... so all that makes it take time, we have to change, remove the protections and because of that, we have pretty much 4-5 minutes more per vehicle. Today, no one is in violation, let's take the time, it's better for everyone. "
