Gunma Tomioka Silk Mill National Treasure "Nishioki Cocosho" Advance Release June 9 8:06

At the Tomioka Silk Mill in Gunma Prefecture, which is a World Heritage Site, the national treasure "Nishioki Cocosho", which has undergone restoration work, will be opened for the people who made advance reservations from the 8th, prior to its opening in October. Publication has started.

The national treasure "Nishioki Cocoonsho", built in 1905, is a two-story building in which bricks are piled up on a framework made of wood, etc. We finished earthquake-resistant construction.

Prior to the public release from October this year, the pre-opening has started on the 8th for those who reserved in advance.

Inside the facility, the process until the cocoon is made into raw silk is displayed along with the tools and materials of the time, and there is also a corner that reproduces the way it was used as a cocoon warehouse.

At the Tomioka Silk Mill, the tour was resumed on the 1st of this month, but the number of customers is still less than 10% of the usual year, and in this pre-release, 10 people were replaced at one time so that they could visit with peace of mind. It means that we are taking measures to prevent so-called "3 dense" condition.

Nobuaki Tajima, director of the Tomioka Silk Mill, Tomioka City, said, “The new coronavirus is not a safe situation yet, so I would like to take appropriate measures.”

It means that the Nishioki Cocoon will be open to the public by the end of this month, and if reservations do not fill the capacity, we will accept it on the day.
