Indian officials said that a tiger that had eaten three people, would spend the rest of his life in captivity, after they saw it as "very dangerous" to remain at large.

The five-year-old male animal is also suspected of attacking cattle. And this tiger moved from Maharashtra, in the west of the country, to the Betul region in the central state of Madhya Pradesh, in 2018, covering a distance of more than 500 km.

"We gave him several opportunities to return to the wild, but he was returning to get close to populated areas," said the wildlife official. Local media called the animal the "mobile" tiger. He was arrested for the first time in December 2018 and kept in captivity for two months. The tiger was equipped with an electronic collar to track his movements, but he returned to residential areas, attacking livestock and endangering people.
