On April 2, 2005, Pope John Paul II died after a long pontificate (1978-2005). Beyond the Christian sphere, the world saluted one of the giants of the 20th century. And the emotion aroused by his disappearance was to open the way to his beatification, then to his canonization in April 2014 in an exceptionally short time. But, the crisis of pedophilia within the clergy which had to assume very quickly his successor began to expose the faults of the pontificate of the Polish pope. It is this inventory right that Christine Pedotti and Anthony Favier highlight in " L'ombre du saint ", published by Albin Michel.
Our guest Christine Pedotti , committed feminist Catholic and director of Christian Testimony is the author of numerous essays on the Church. Anthony Favier, who accompanied her in the writing of this well-documented book, is a historian and former co-president of David and Jonathan, an association that campaigns for the inclusion of homosexuals in the Church.
Bernard Lecomte , former great reporter in the countries of the East before the fall of communism, has signed several authoritative biographies of John Paul II. He delivers his analysis on this inventory charged to the Polish pope.
