Members of a gang of armed thieves committed a strange crime of its kind, apparently taking advantage of the impact of the outbreak of the new Corona virus in cities around the world.

The gang members denied the clothes of health inspectors monitoring the application of precautionary measures for the Corona virus, and succeeded in stealing a supermarket in a city in South Africa, according to the «Sky News Arabia».

It is believed that the gang managed to seize 200,000 South African rand (about 12,000 US dollars) from the supermarket treasury in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal Province, on Wednesday morning.
The four men wore white coats, medical masks, and carried papers when they entered the supermarket, around 8:30 am, according to the Daily Mail website.

The police confirmed that two members of the gang detained the supermarket manager and an employee at gunpoint, before rushing to seize all the money in the treasury.

The video footage showed the four men walking quietly into the supermarket, talking to an employee sitting behind a desk, and then continuing to walk through a set of glass doors to their target.

Then the clips are cut before they appear again as they exit while carrying several bags containing cash.

"Four men in white coats entered a store in Scottsville through the main entrance, went to the office with the treasury, and asked to speak to the manager," Pietermaritzburg police spokesperson, Matthuzzi, told Radio East Coast in South Africa.

He continued: «Two of the suspects entered the director’s office with an employee while the other two stood outside. At gunpoint, they forced the manager and employee to lie on the ground, then plundered all the money. ”

The four fled the area in a car, while officials did not confirm the exact value of the money that was stolen.

The gang members did not fire a single shot, and no injuries were reported.
