According to Interfax, the list includes the most popular new words, the meaning of which was asked at least 10 times more often this year than the previous one.
It is clarified that this year, the top three of these words were “auf”, “lockdown” and “padra”. The first three places in the ranking last year were occupied by Wislovo, Foodporn and Boomer.
In 2018, the squishy, highlie likly and chuits topped the list.
It is noted that from other years, the list of “Yandex” also included words such as “selfie” and “eshkere”.
Earlier, the American dictionary Merriam-Webster called "they" the word 2019. In turn, the Cambridge dictionary called the word last year "upcycling."
