On October 30, 2018, the Liuzhou Intermediate People's Law opened public hearings on the case of the defendant Wei Le's intentional murder. After investigation, it was found that Wei Le believed that her cohabiting girl was friendly in gambling and neglected to take care of the children born by the two. Later, Wei Le worried that his daughter was left unattended after being sentenced for debt problems, and gradually had the idea of killing two daughters. At 14 o'clock on June 3, 2018, Wei Le tricked his two daughters to an abandoned stone house in Ligao Town, Liujiang District, Liuzhou City, Guangxi Province on the grounds of playing, using the two daughters to lie on their laps and rest with their hands. Strangle the necks of the two men until they died of mechanical asphyxia, and then hide their bodies. The second victim was only 6 and 4 years old when he died. Later, Wei Le fabricated a lie to deceive relatives and villagers around the victim. On June 7 of the same year, Wei Le was detained by the public security organ, and the following day he truthfully confessed the fact of the murder of the two daughters and led the public security organ to find the body hidden by him.
On December 13, the same year, the Liuzhou Intermediate People's Court publicly sentenced the case to the first instance, sentenced Wei Le to death for deliberate homicide, and deprived him of his political rights for life. After the sentence was pronounced, there was no appeal within the legal period.
On March 7, 2019, the Higher People’s Court of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, after reviewing according to law, made a ruling agreeing with the judgment of the first instance, and reported to the Supreme People’s Court for approval in accordance with the law.
After review, the Supreme People's Court held that Wei Le deliberately and illegally deprived others of his life, and his actions constituted a crime of intentional homicide. Wei Le deliberately killed his innocent young girl because of family conflicts. The crime was extremely bad, causing the death of the two. The consequences were particularly serious and should be punished according to law. The facts found in the first-instance judgment and the review by the Higher People's Court of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are clear, the evidence is reliable and sufficient, the conviction is accurate, the sentence is appropriate, and the trial procedure is legal. According to this, the Supreme People's Court approved the death sentence against Wei Le according to law.
