The 66th edition of the Mérida International Classical Theater Festival will be held from July 22 to August 23, as approved by the Festival Consortium Board of Trustees this Friday, which met in the Extremaduran capital, chaired Guillermo Fernández Vara, chairman.

Among them is the reduction in capacity, which could finally be established at 50% of seat occupancy (from 3,000 tickets at the box office to 1,500 at each performance). Initially, a festival was considered in which the capacity had been reduced to just 800 people. "The Festival will comply with all health regulations, both for the public and for workers ", the event itself has indicated today, adding that, in addition, the guide of good practices that has been prepared by the Ministry of Culture in relation to the restart of stage and music activity in Spain. The contest budget is pending its approval by the Governing Council of the Junta de Extremadura .

For this edition, the Festival management has confirmed that it will maintain the extensions in Medellín, with three productions: Regina , with a show belonging to an Extremaduran company; and Cáparra , with four representations.
