INTERVIEW

What if the Covid-19 had brought Fort Boyard to an end? This is what production currently fears when filming must resume. On Europe 1 Friday, the producer of the show, Alexia Laroche-Joubert, said she was "really worried" about the future. According to her, her situation could even call into question Adventure Line Productions, the production company of Fort Boyard but also of Koh-Lanta, which she chairs. This observation pushes her to ask for funds to be able to ensure the survival of this legendary program.

According to Alexia Laroche-Joubert, Fort Boyard is "in danger". "I normally leave in eight days to start filming and currently there is no insurance. They decided not to insure us," she said, adding that she had "millions at stake".

The threat of the Covid-19

However, explains the producer, if a problem occurs during the filming, Fort Boyard risks being seriously affected. "If by any chance I can't turn to talk about Covid-19 because there are cases [on the team], it's catastrophic. Adventure Line Productions can shut down and never again be able to broadcast Fort Boyard, "warns Alexia Laroche-Joubert.

To prevent the disappearance of this program, Alexia Laroche-Joubert is claiming financial aid from the State. "We just want to benefit, too, from a support fund that will be available in the event of a hardship," she launched, differentiating the film industry and that of television programs like Fort Boyard. "We can't be poor parents all the time. We fed the antennas to entertain the public [during confinement]. We have to recognize our responsibility. We are part of popular culture and we are important, just like cinema. ", points Alexia Laroche-Joubert. "I need urgent action."
