"I'm writing a scenario for a new work right now... the movie will continue."

Director Bong Joon-ho finished the'parasite' award race, which began as the Golden Palm Awards at the Cannes Film Festival in May last year, as the grand prize for the'Baeksang Arts Awards'.

On the afternoon of the 5th, at the 56th'Baeksang Arts Awards' awards ceremony held at KINTEX, Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do, director Bong Joon-ho received the best prize in the film category for'parasites'.

Director Bong Joon-ho went on a long vacation after the Academy Awards in February. The trophy awarded on this day was received by Kwak Shin-ae, CEO of Barenson, Inc.
CEO Kwak Shin-ae calmly delivered the impressions of the award that Bong Joon-ho gave before the award ceremony. Director Bong Joon-ho said, "I am honored to be able to finish the journey of'parasites' that started in May last year with the Baeksang Arts Awards. It was a hot year. It was a two-and-a-half-hour passionate time with the people I worked with. I spent a long time of 7 years since 2013, when I envisioned it. I would like to express my gratitude to the helpers for all those who have worked a lot for a long time and protected and supported the artists in the process.”

“Actors and staff with'parasites' can meet each other again in the work, and I'm writing a scenario too. The movie will continue. I believe that soon we'll meet again in a full theater.” That concluded the testimony.
The'parasite' won a total of three trophies, not only the grand prize, but also the work prize and the best actor. It was a beautiful achievement that ended the one-year awards ceremony race.

The best acting award was taken by Lee Byung-hun of'Namsan's managers' and Jeon Do-yeon of'Birthday'. Lee Byung-hun, who received the Best Actor Award for'Baekdusan' at the'Dae Jong Award' award ceremony two days ago, also received the honor of'President of Namsan'. The male and female supporting awards were made up of Lee Kwang-soo of'My Special Brother' and Kim Sae-byul of'Hummingbird'. Both actors defeated prominent candidates and were honored with the first Baeksang award.
