  During the debate on the second reading of the National Anthem Bill on May 28, opposition members threw rotten plants with a foul odor into the meeting room, which suspended the meeting. Once again, opposition MPs rushed to the rostrum, spilling unknown liquids, and then the conference hall was filled with odor.

  In response, five members of the institutionalists, Liang Meifen, Ge Yifan, Zhou Haoding, He Junyao and Lu Songxiong, reported to the police headquarters. Liang Meifen said that the act of spilling liquid by the opposition MPs Chen Zhiquan, Zhu Kaidi and Xu Zhifeng illegally prevented and interfered with the performance of the duties of the members of the Legislative Council, hindered the progress of the meeting, and violated Article 17 of the Legislative Council’s Powers and Privileges Ordinance.   Ge Jiefan told reporters from China News Service that he had explained the incident and his views to the police, and he would make a statement later.

  She said that when the incident occurred, she was close to the location where the unknown liquid was spilled, she nausea when she smelled the smell, and her skin also developed rashes.
