Journalist Jean-Jacques Bourdin will leave at the start of the school year the presentation of the RMC morning show he had been hosting for 19 years, "Bourdin Direct", but will remain in charge of the political interview at 8:30 am, according to information from the Parisian.
Questioned by AFP, the Altice group, owner of the radio RMC, declined to comment on this information. The newspaper, which cites concordant sources, indicates that this judgment is made "by mutual agreement" with the direction.

A figure of the station known for his uncompromising interviews, the soon-to-be 71-year-old host, who started out as a sports journalist on RTL, where he had a career before joining RMC, would like to ease off to devote himself fully to his political interview ahead of the 2022 presidential election, according to Le Parisien.
His morning show is also broadcast on TV on RMC Découverte and his political talk on BFMTV, channels like RMC from the Altice group.
The morning receding
During the last wave of radio audiences published by Médiamétrie, covering the first quarter (from January to March 16) RMC was down with 6.4% of cumulative audience (-0.9 point). The morning "Bourdin Direct" gathered in January 660,000 regulars between 7 am and 9 am, 120,000 less than the year before, specifies the Parisian.
