On Thursday, June 4, on the video service more.tv, the demonstration of the multi-part drama Eduard Hovhannisyan “Chiki” begins. The producers included Ruben Dishdishyan, Fedor Bondarchuk, Vyacheslav Murugov and others.
The events of the series unfold in a small provincial city in southern Russia. There once were born, raised, and now three friends work as prostitutes - Marina (Alyona Mikhailova), Luda (Varvara Shmykova) and Sveta (Irina Nosova). Girls are not going to change anything: there are no prospects. And so - and income, albeit small, and with law enforcement agencies relations are normal (the local police officer is Sveta's brother). You can live more or less calmly.
Hope for a better future appears with the return to the homeland of Jeanne (Irina Gorbacheva) - another of their friends who used to work on the same track, but turned out to be more ambitious and went to conquer the capital.
At home, Jeanne plans to open a fitness club, which she immediately informs her former colleagues. At first, they make her laugh: the girls quite reasonably note that nobody needs fitness clubs in their city - every yard has a free horizontal bar. However, Jeanne does not abandon her plan. Looking at her, the girls become infected with enthusiasm, think about life outside of prostitution and decide to join her friend.

Throughout the season, viewers will watch how four girls, despite the difficulties, try to achieve their goal. However, the very idea of opening a fitness club in Chicky is secondary.
Filmmakers accompany the heroines on their difficult path and at the same time introduce us to other characters in order to demonstrate the life, lifestyle and customs of the provincial town population with all positive and negative sides.
Watching this is especially interesting, since there are a lot of secondary characters in the series, everyone has different characters and stories, which often, thanks to the capacious dialogues and the accurate play of the actors, are easily read without lengthy introductions.
Both actresses and producers noted that the characters and the atmosphere recreated by the film crew will be close to many. This series is primarily about reality: about real people and life, in which there is a place of both joy and grief. By the way, in addition to fictional scripts, real stories also got into the script.
Landscapes added colors: the shooting took place in the Kabardino-Balkarian city of Prokhladny in the summer and early autumn of 2019, due to which you can see lush fields, sunflower thickets, lakes and sunsets in the frame (the last, according to the director, the team admired every evening).

Despite the beautiful picture, which can make one think in a light way, and the abundance of humor in the plot, the drama in "Chicky" becomes stronger and more obvious over time.
The heroines have much more problems than it seems at first glance. At the same time, as viewers learn over time, far from all the difficulties are associated with the ill-fated fitness club, although it is a real headache: there are no funds to open a sports center in a small town, prostitutes don’t receive a 2-personal income certificate, local “businessmen” »New competitors are not welcome, the pimp does not let go. Yes, and from labels that stubbornly hang around, there is no escape.
Difficulty is everywhere. So, one of the heroines is pregnant, and the other has to raise her son alone. The father of the child, who has not disappeared anywhere and wants to communicate with the offspring, only adds to the trouble. At the same time, a long-standing acquaintance looms on the horizon, whose behavior suggests thoughts of his pedophile inclinations. In general, the farther - the less comedy in the "Chicks".
Some of the audience will be amused, but someone will probably be upset by the naivety of the main characters. And it's not even a strange undertaking with a fitness club (although, really, who needs it there?), But in the girls' knowledge and experience.
It’s not enough to just want. It’s not enough to sell one of the things, borrow money and start going to church.
It is difficult to say whether the heroines understand what they are doing: more or less only the character of Gorbacheva imagines the next steps. The rest are involved in the matter, as in a game, and readily go all-in, only exacerbating their position.
The audience will watch the misadventures of the girls for eight episodes lasting about 50 minutes each. The first two episodes can be seen on the day of the premiere, the next will be released weekly on Thursdays.
