While airlines continued to reduce flights due to the effects of the new coronavirus, an airline company at Hakodate Airport in Hokkaido began to help its employees during their busy season by spending their spare time in their work.

Due to the influence of the new coronavirus, the number of flights to and from Hakodate Airport has been drastically reduced, and the Japan Airlines Hakodate Branch is busy with the busy season in order to utilize the free time of the ground staff at the airport. We have begun efforts to support local farmers in need.

On the 3rd, seven employees visited a farmer in Hakodate and worked on asparagus branch cutting.

While being taught by the farmers, the employees carefully cut off the branches one by one using scissors.

Mr. Mizuki Fujiwara, an employee, said, “I'm glad I had the opportunity to contribute to the community.”

Mr. Torao Otsuki, a farmer, said, “This time around, it was a situation where part-time workers could not gather because of the new coronavirus, so I am very grateful to have helped me.”

Japan Airlines Hakodate Branch will help agricultural work until the middle of this month when it is decided to reduce the number of flights of aircraft.
