One would have thought that the abundant rains that the department experienced this winter would avoid the phenomenon. This is apparently not the case. While the sun is strong and it is in Loire-Atlantique that it will be the hottest on Tuesday, the specter of drought is already being felt. In recent days, two watersheds have notably reached the "alert threshold", and this "despite optimal winter recharging", says the prefecture.

This is the Breton Coastal watershed as well as that of Logne, Boulogne and Ognon (south of the department). The very low flow rate of certain rivers pushed the prefecture of Loire-Atlantique, Friday, to take measures of water restrictions.

Prohibition to clean your terrace

For example, the filling of swimming pools (except refilling), the cleaning of vehicles, buildings, terraces and roads, or the supply of fountains and beach showers are prohibited. Watering green spaces, sports fields and flower beds is only permitted at night, from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Note that washing cars in stations or watering vegetable gardens is authorized. A similar decree was taken in Vendée.
